When you look back through previous DTC-seasons two names cannot be ignored: Jan Magnussen and Casper Elgaard. In 2010, the two joins up in the new Team Bauhaus Telesikring.

Team Bauhaus Telesikring has become a reality after intense work over the winter where the team came together piece by piece. The main Sponsor - DIY chain Bauhaus - was confirmed in january, but since then not a word was heard from Perfection Racing working hard pulling strings behind the scene.

"The original plan was a one-car team, with Jan Magnussen driving a Chevrolet in Bauhaus' colours. But then a truly exciting opportunity came up and therefore we would not disclose our plans until everything fell into place," says Kent Bo Steffensen from Perfection Racing. Surely things were really happening fast. Within a few weeks the team was extended with an additional driver, a full campaign in both the DTC and the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup was secured, and the team also changed to another brand of car. "Team Telesikring had two BMW's ready for racing and was interested in a collaboration. Suddenly we were able to have both Jan Magnussen and Casper Elgaard racing for us and it must surely be what you call a dream team! I am extremely pleased that it all worked out in the end. Our team is even more competitive and the Danish Touringcar Championship and the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup will be even more exciting. I am confident that our team will be a frontrunner in the two championships," predicts Kent Bo Steffensen.

It is certainly difficult to imagine a stronger Danish team than the new Team Bauhaus Telesikring. Casper Elgaard and Jan Magnussen has won 5 DTC Championships and they are also the two most successful drivers in the DTC, when you look at the number of heat victories. Perfection Racing, who will maintain the team's two BMW 320si racers, is also a previous championship winner: They have won the DTC team championship for the past two seasons. With a total of 7 DTC championships and numerous heat wins, Team Bauhaus Telesikring has the proper credentials.

The two drivers are eager to get going. "It is really exciting to be involved in the start of something which I am sure will turn into something really big. This year we meet the Swedes in 4 races, but the number of races will grow in the future," says Casper Elgaard who can also reveal that the idea to have Jan Magnussen as teammate is not new for him: "I am really looking forward to work with the new team. Jan and I have often talked about driving for the same team. Then we were thinking at long distance racing, but now we are start with touring cars and who knows what can happen then?" he asks.

Jan Magnussen is also excited about the his new team. "This year everything is new. New team, new teammate and new people all around me. But the are all among the most skilled in Denmark, so it will be great to get going," tells Magnussen who - as usual - has high hopes for his campaign. "We want to win it all. The Scandinavian Touring Car Cup - the DTC - everything.........but let's see. We don't know exactly how good the Swedes are, but they are probably pretty good, so we will have to work hard."

Only 3 weeks remain before the season starts and Team Bauhaus Telesikring is thrown into deep water right from the start. The first race will be 'Åbningsløbet' at Jyllandsringen the 24th-25th of April. This race is a part of both championships, so all the strong Swedish teams will try to beat the Danes at home. A challenge that Team Bauhaus Telesikring looks forward to.
